Feeling a little magical...

I've always been a little bit afraid of wearing maxi and midi skirts as I worry they're not the most flattering piece to wear. However I spotted this one on the Zara website and loved the Dior inspiration behind it so much that I put my worries to one side. I have to be honest, this isn't the cheapest thing I've bought, it was £80 which I do think is quite a lot for the high street. The embroidery and detail on it is absolutely gorgeous, I really do love it. The fairy/magical queen on the front (and back) is so pretty and girly, I could totally imagine this being worn for a special event or even a Christmas party. The midnight blue colour palette and tulle finished with delicate silver thread works well with the selection of forest inspired embroidery. It really is magical. But it is quite sheer, and I know the Dior ones are too but it doesn't exactly make it the easiest piece in my wardrobe to style.

I wore this to a special event held by PANDORA at the Kensington Hotel celebrating the PANDORA and Disney UK collection, where we were treated to the Beauty and the Beast afternoon tea (hopefully more on that in the next post). I'd never been to the Kensington Hotel and it felt so luxurious, I would love to stay there one day, despite only living 30 mins away on the tube. It just seemed like such a treat to be somewhere so cosy in the heart of London, plus all of the staff were very friendly! It was truly fabulous, I was gifted this lovely Minnie Mouse necklace from the collection and I think it just goes wonderfully with the whimsical feel of this outfit. If you have any Disney lovers in your life, you must check out this collaboration. It's very sparkly, and would make a really lovely Christmas gift. Yes, I know I'm already talking about Christmas...

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the photos and don't forget to follow me on Instagram if you want to see more of what I get up to!

  1. What a lovely outfit! I do find midi and maxi skirts very flattering actually, because they make such a statement and they're very feminine. This skirt is gorgeous, I really like the embroidery! The event must have been great, anything involving Disney is always a success, much like the Cath Kidston collections they've done recently!
